Starting a Training Group

When you or your club are considering starting a new training group, you should consider the following things.

• What is the target group? How old are the kids participating? Will there be different ages in one group and how that affects planning?
• How do you take into account the level of participants? Are the total new comers or advanced players? How will you adapt the exercises to different levels.
• How long will the group keep meeting? Will it be one weekend, once a week for the summer or year round?
• Who organize the activities and are there substitutes? Who is the contact person, who does the marketing, who is the instructor and who is responsible for the whole operation?

Plan ahead how to market your new training group. Think about what you want to publish and where. Remember these channels:

Budgeting

Plan the financing before starting your group. Here are some basics to consider?

Expenses:

• Marketing costs

Income:

• Do you have a registration fee for the participants?
• Do you have sponsors for the training?
