The game does not have a clear end point or overall winners. The idea is that it adapts to everyone’s putting level until it is an even competition, and everyone’s team will eventually win a round.
Supplies
- Tall cones, ideally two each of a variety of colors
- One mini marker or other marker for each team
- An elevated platform for the cones. In a gym, this could be gymnastics equipment (see video). Outside, a slope/hill is sufficient, with cones located on the ground uphill from throwers.
- 1 putter for each player
Preparations
- Find an elevated position for the cones to simulate a realistic putt height.
- Divide the players into teams of 2. Similar or mixed levels work, both within and between teams.
- Mark the starting distance for the first round, typically around 6-7 meters
- Give a putter to each player.
Rules
- Each team has 2 specific cones that they are trying to knock over, located directly across from their marker / starting point.
- At a start signal, everyone attempts the putt simultaneously.
- Each player only has one disc, and as soon as they have attempted a putt, they must run and retrieve their disc from wherever it landed.
- They then run back to the marker and try again, until one of the teams has knocked down both of their cones and shouted “finished!” (or another predetermined phrase), ending the first round.
- Either player in a pair can knock over either/both of their team’s cones.
- Throwing while someone is retrieving their disc in front of you is strictly forbidden, players must wait until the path is clear.
- When a team yells “finished”, all teams stop, set back up their cones and move their markers forward or backward, according to their success in the round.
- The winning team moves their marker one step further away from the cones. Teams with 1 / 2 cones down stay in the same position and teams with 0 / 2 cones move their marker forward.
- Coach signals begin of second round when all teams are ready.
- Play as many rounds as you wish.
